Fiddler and very subjective ethnographer.
“The music I play is rooted in my travels, my imagination and my taste. For 30 years, I have wandered from one village to another, looked through the works of Oskar Kolberg and the archives of the Polish Academy of Science and the Catholic University of Lublin, and leafing through various works by well-known and obscure authors. One particularly unique experience, both musically and spiritually, was playing with a hundred-year-old fiddler. I always knew a special national tone exists, a musical atom that is both recognisable and unpredictable. I found it very early on, and that’s where my music comes from.”
